1) Lift up your heads, O ye gates; Even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in.

Psalm 24 verse 9

Lord Jesus Christ you are the King of glory for you are the King of kings and Lord of lords. Yet Lord only a small minority of people give you your rightful place in their lives by giving you the pre eminence. Instead Lord Jesus self rather than yourself reigns for you are as despised and rejected today just like you were during the days of your earthly ministry. Thank you Lord Jesus that your blood was shed for whosoever will repent of their sin and accept you as Saviour and Lord.

Praise you Jesus that you have risen from the dead and are alive for evermore. Lord Jesus you are in heaven having all authority in heaven and earth. Lord so few today realise that if they do not repent of their sin and ask you to be their Saviour then there is only one other place where their soul will go when they die. That place is hell; cut off from God forever, a place of everlasting torment with no escape. Lord Jesus please give your servant and your remnant Church who still believe your comm and to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature every possible means and the resources needed to ensure that every creature does hear the gospel. Lord Jesus the signs of the times indicate that time is short to be able to reach every creature so I and all like me are totally dependent on yourself.

Thank you Lord Jesus that you will do everything because I dare to believe. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

2) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans chapter 12 verse 1

Lord Jesus Christ you gave your all for me when you were nailed to the cross. The holy gave Himself for the unholy. The righteous gave Himself for the unrighteous. The pure gave Himself for the unpure. Lord Jesus thank you for it was your blood which reconciled me with a holy, righteous and pure God. Lord please use me to call your remnant Church to be a Church which is holy, righteous and pure.

Lord please show the living stones which compose Your body the Church that it was expected that each believer in the early Church would as Paul writes in this verse to the Romans present their body as a living sacrifice unto God. Of ourselves we are unable to be holy, righteous and pure. It is only when the Holy Spirit lives as God through us and as He replaces the human with the divine that we become holy, righteous and pure. Lord Jesus please find those who will go all the way for God for the secret of power is separation from all that is unclean.

Lord please call those who are separated from all that is unclean to be living sacrifices through whom the Holy Spirit can intercede to ensure that both Your command to preach the gospel to every creature and for Your return as the Messiah of the Jews are both fulfilled. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

Abandonment Prayer

3) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit : for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 10

I am still hungry for more of Jesus. Are you? In these days when often those who call themselves Christian are lukewarm at best are you on fire for Jesus who loved us and gave himself for us? Jesus did not hold back from doing the will of the Father but for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame.

It is with these thoughts before us that we can look in greater depth at why your walk with our Lord may not be fulfilling all that he wants to see done. In 1 Corinthians chapter 2 Paul is able to show us where we should be and how to get there. Paul shows us that it was not excellent words or wisdom that he declared the testimony of God.

No it was not self or anything of human endeavour which Paul brought to try and win souls for Christ but as he shows us in verse 2 Paul brought to the Corinthians Jesus Christ and him crucified. It is not man or woman reaching out to lost souls but God himself through us when we are living sacrifices.

All on the altar we need to lay so that the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost alone can live his life through us to reach out to a lost world; a world without Jesus. It is a return to the lost message which has been shunned through modern day thinking, that is human thinking which works on the level of human thinking. No wonder the vital ingredient for dynamic spirit filled lives working on God’s scale has been lost. Human thinking will only bring results at the level of human thinking.

Let us not work at best on the plain but in the heights, the heights of God which can only be reached through accepting the way of the cross. Jesus went the way of the cross so why should we be any different. This is our starting point. We must first accept a life which is totally crucified with Christ.

When we accepted Jesus as our Saviour every bit of the old life should have gone to the cross and a new life, that of receiving the resurrection life of Jesus come into us to take the place of the old life. It is starting afresh with the life of the Saviour within us.

How simple it sounds to be crucified with Jesus. Yet what a stumbling block to the majority in our own day who call themselves Christian. There is little surrender and because of this no power. Not our power for the way of the cross shows us that we are nothing as the way of the cross is a daily dying to self. This is the greatest enemy of the cross of Jesus today.

Not Satan but those who think themselves sheep but in reality are the goats which Jesus spoke about. Self can never know the life of the Holy Ghost living his life in and through us. Self has to go, every last particle of it. Why you might ask? It is only God who can do his work not man or woman. God, though chooses to do this through those who will come to him and accept his conditions.

Have you accepted God’s conditions? Have you heard the Holy Ghost say to you “ are you willing to be made willing” ? If not are you prepared to say to the Holy Ghost I want you to have my body please came and help me to do this. Until we reach this position we will know nothing of the deep workings of the Holy Ghost in us and through us.

Do you know what it is to be on the anvil of God until you reflect the image of the Master? Full surrender is the starting point. From that position the Holy Ghost is able to bring his life in, a life which in reality is a life which reflects Jesus as it will have sweet peace and love towards everyone we are brought into contact.

A prayer I use at the start of each day is that Jesus will bring to me those who are in need of him that day. What a privilege to know the Holy Ghost reaching out to the person who has been brought to me and the love of the Saviour reaching out through me to that person.

This is the way of humility as we are not dependent upon ourselves and our limited resources but totally submitted to the Holy Ghost so that all the glory of what takes place goes to the Saviour and our Heavenly Father. It is a painful process to be stripped of every self interest and every self thought.

It has to be done as until this takes place we are of little use to being able to be used in seeking to fulfil the every creature commission. Step by step everything which is in the natural and everything of self in the way of becoming a vessel which is entirely the Holy Ghost’s has to go to the cross. This can only be done as we hear the voice of the Holy Ghost coming to us and as he asks us if he can take something away, for example the love of money, this can only be done if we are willing.

Once we are willing then this will be done. The love in the natural will go to the cross and be cleansed in the blood of Jesus. Stage by stage we are dealt with by the Holy Ghost. The old natural self goes to be replaced by the divine and with it a life of holiness, righteousness and purity. In other words a life which starts to reflect the life of Jesus. You might say I want none of this. The choice is yours. You can go on in the natural but you will never know the depths and the heights of God. You will never know what it is to be seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Your usefulness to God will be limited. The Holy Ghost has said to me that we have entered the days of seeing the greater works which the Master himself spoke of. At Bible College of Wales  Continuing in Rhos on Sea in North Wales we have laid our lives on the altar of sacrifice in order to be used to fulfil the every creature commission. We also expect the Holy Ghost to come down upon us in revival when every life is fully submitted to the Holy Ghost and everything of self and the natural has been replaced by the divine. Holy Ghost come and show me if there is still anything within your cleansed channel which is stiffening your coming down in revival.

Reader where do you want to be? On the plain and seeing in the natural and working in the natural or seeing as God and allowing the Holy Ghost to work through you at the heavenly level as this is on God’s scale. As the verse chosen for this message says it is the Spirit which searches the deep things of God. Let each one of us be done with the limitations of man or woman and the working in the natural. Let us move into the deep things of God and not be afraid of the price to be paid in order to get there. You will never be the same again as you will know when the Holy Ghost has taken over.

Lord Jesus Christ you gave your all for us. May we give our all to you when we let the Holy Ghost come and live his life through us. May we be prepared to go all the way with you, that is a daily dying to self and embracing the way of the cross each and every day. Lord let the Holy Ghost strip us of self in order to take away the natural way of thinking and replace it with the divine. Lord have your whole way with me in this life. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to your holy and blessed name. Amen.

4)  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians chapter 2 verse 6

We move on with our study of the words ”in Christ.” Paul takes us to the heart of our faith. He takes us from what we were without Christ to what we can be with Christ. We are taken from the earthly into the heavenly. This is a position open to all who will avail themselves but it comes at a price. This is the price of full surrender for only lives which have the Saviour’s nature can know what it is to live in the heavenly places. Human nature has no place where the Saviour lives for when we enter into the heavenly realm we have to think from heaven’s standpoint. Sadly there is a reluctance to want to go all the way with God in our day. O that there will be a willingness to say not my will but yours be done and all of our life is then placed on the altar as a living sacrifice.

Chapter 2 verse 1 - And you hath he quickened. Each one of us who has come to know Jesus as our Saviour needed to be quickened. Of ourselves we had no desire or thought to want to seek to know anything of Christ. We needed the Holy Spirit to place in us the desire to seek to know who God is and point us in the direction of Jesus Christ. One of the prayers that never leaves me day by day is for souls who follow other faiths will have their hearts and minds opened to see that Jesus Christ is God.

Verse 1 continued - who were dead in trespasses and sins. All of us no matter who we are or where we live are dead in sin. We have been born sinners and of ourselves cannot set ourselves free from sin. It is not a case of trying to follow a way of life which somehow improves us and earns our way to eternal life. For those who follow other faiths which look to earn eternal life the Bible is emphatic that this will not happen. We are told by none other than Jesus Christ himself that he and he alone is the way unto God. May the words of the following verse be made known to every person in the world.

5) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

St John chapter 14 verse 6

Verse 2 - Wherein in time past. Paul makes it clear that there had been a time in the past when life had been very different. One aspect of coming to know Christ is that there is a moment from which life for the believer changes. Unlike other faiths with their ways for self improvement with Christ there is a time when the old life comes to a clear end and the new life which is Christ’s takes its place. This can be described as being born again or converted. The sinner has acknowledged and repented of their sin and asked for forgiveness.

Sin is then cleansed by the blood of Christ and the old life ceases. Through faith a new life which is the resurrection life of Christ replaces the old and a whole new life begins. We have all lived according to the ways of the world and followed the prince of the power of the air which is none other than Satan himself. We knew what it was to be children of disobedience for we lived to please ourselves rather than God. The same can be said of all who are still outside of Christ.

Each one lives in disobedience who has not asked Christ to be their Saviour. This is because however good a life may appear to be by the world’s standards unless we come to God through his chosen means we are cut off from God and unable to receive his life.

Verse 4 - But God, who is rich in mercy. This is our God. He comes to us in mercy. He reaches out in his love and seeks to bring us back to himself. The Father and the Saviour would rather suffer in our place. This is what happened at Calvary. The Father loved us so much that he spared not his only begotten son. The Saviour loved us so much that he took our place on the cross.

Sin had cut us off from God and there was no hope of forgiveness. Yet the Saviour gave himself completely to become the one perfect sacrifice for sin for ever. There was none other good enough to pay the price of sin he only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in. This is the love of God as made known to us through Jesus Christ. It was not a set of rules which Christ followed but he gave his own life and stood condemned in our place.

He carried my sin and your sin and the sin of every sinner in his own body and brought about the only means of the sinner being able to find forgiveness. This was the entering of our God right into our hopeless condition and bringing about the solution which we would never have been able to find if left to ourselves. This is the love of the Father and the Saviour for it is a real love which once we have experienced this love is ours for time and eternity.

Verse 5 - By grace ye are saved. What depth is found in the word grace. Can we ever fathom out why God loved us so much to want to give us the chance of being reconciled to himself. Grace is God’s unmerited favour.

Verse 6 - Sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. It had been the Risen Lord who had appeared to his disciples after his resurrection. When the Holy Ghost came down he revealed the exalted Saviour at the right hand of the Father. This position of being able to know the glorified Lord is one which is open to those who are willing to accept the conditions laid down by the Holy Ghost. This position does not come without a price. That price is full surrender. The Holy Ghost as the third person of the Trinity is as much God as the Father and the Saviour.

He is a person who has his own life and his own will. He will not share his life with us. If we want to know what it is to sit in heavenly places the Holy Ghost is the only one who can take us there. In order to do so he has to come and live his life through our bodies. Those are his clear terms. This is what Paul was explaining in Romans chapter 12 verse 1 when he speaks of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice. Those who want to know the fullest meaning of what it is to be in Christ by living with him in heavenly places can only do so by being willing to be made willing to surrender to the Holy Ghost and let him live his life through them.

Father God you are rich in mercy. You gave your own son to be the only means of reconciling sinners to yourself. In not sparing your son you showed that both Jesus and yourself would rather suffer in our place. Lord Jesus Christ you loved us so much that you laid your life down for us who were dead in trespasses and sins. We who know you through death to sin and receiving a new life through your resurrection life are now sons and daughters of God.

May each one who has come to know you as Saviour come to know you as Lord. May the Holy Ghost find those who are willing to be made willing to make a full surrender for him to live his life through their bodies. May there be many who will surrender and in so doing know what it is to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Lord find those through whom you can use to carry through the Saviour’s command to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. This prayer is for the glory and honour of our God. Amen.

6)  And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey.

St Mark chapter 1 verse 6

Lord Jesus Christ John the Baptist was a man totally dead to self. He gave himself fully in order to prepare the way for your starting your own ministry. What an example we have before us of how to be completely given to serve yourself.

John was totally unaffected by the opinions of others. He wore the most basic of clothes; he ate the basic of food to the extent that it was what he could find in the wilderness. Yet John did all that was asked of him. He called for repentance. His voice was a cry in the wilderness and many responded to that cry and were baptised in the river Jordan. May we too, Lord, also have a cry. It is the lack of a cry today to call lost sinners to yourself that I look to stand in the gap as an intercessor in order to turn sinners to yourself in repentance. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to your holy name Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

7)  The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

St Mark chapter 1 verse 3

The voice we are to consider belongs to John the Baptist. It is a voice which has resounded through the centuries to each generation wherever there have been those who were prepared to understand its significance. As the forerunner of our Lord John has to be seen as having played a crucial role leading up to Jesus starting His earthly ministry. We must never underestimate the role of John the Baptist and seek to glean important truths which can be applied to our own day.Right at the beginning of his gospel Saint Mark emphasises that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ who is none other than the Son of God.

Mark was not giving an account of some ordinary man but of Jesus Christ who is co equal with the Father as such demands our full attention. In verse 2 of chapter 1 Mark makes clear that the ministry of John the Baptist had been spoken of through the prophets. This is our confidence that we can be assured that everything which has taken place in our Lord’s ministry had been spoken of through the Old Testament scriptures. It is because of this that we can also be assured that everything that is to take place in relation to our Lord’s second coming is also contained in the scriptures.

How clear the prophet Malachi was in chapter 3 verse 1 when he said:Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me.There had to be the work of preparation first. It was imperative that this scripture was fulfilled. God is a God of order. He is precise in what He does. Nothing is left to chance. No when God works He works according to that He has already purposed. What a purpose, though, when we accept that although our need is great we have a God who in Jesus is able to meet our every need. The need through the ministry of John was to open the way for Jesus to come and reconcile a lost mankind to a holy and righteous God. What a ministry John has shown us. One of complete self sacrifice. John had a cry which has been heard through the centuries. He may not have appeared to have been a great preacher of eloquent words but he cried from the heart and had an amazing effect upon those who heard his cry. John did not cry in the temple or Jerusalem itself or throughout Judea.

No that was not the way of John. He chose the wilderness; the lonely place. This was the place of standing alone with God and totally for God. John had no one but God. He was no longer with his parents, neither had he a family or friends. No everything which we today would expect to be part of our own lives John had sacrificed just to be alone with God so that he could hear the voice of God and act in obedience to the voice of God. A simple ministry but so profound and at the cost of everything which we would take for granted in our own lives.

We will only get from God the measure by which we are prepared to sacrifice. If like John we sacrifice all we will be used mightily by God. Not that by any merits of our own we deserve to be used but because God seeks those who will listen to His voice and in doing so will obey and go all the way with Him. John had nothing of this world. He was completely dead to the world and anything of its comforts. Even in his own day the way John dressed would have been considered to have been extremely basic. His food was equally as basic. John’s lifestyle was different to anyone else of his day. He asked nothing of anyone else and accepted from God the minimum of needs for this life. Through the centuries there have been others who have lived off the minimum of this world’s goods for their basic needs and in doing so have been greatly used of God. The early saints like Patrick, David, Columba and Ninian. In more recent times there has been the sacrificial love of Mother Teresa. In our own day there is my dear friend Sister Dorothy in her work amongst the unloved of society through her sacrificial love day and night at Maundy Relief in Accrington. What an effect John had on the people. His cry penetrated all the way from the wilderness right into the heart of Jerusalem and throughout Judea. Above everything else, though, the cry pierced right into the hearts of his hearers. The call to repent was acted upon. John came with a new message.

The old way of circumcision gave way to that of water baptism. The man who was totally given to God and completely saturated with God attracted people to himself. This could not just have been out of curiosity otherwise very few would have responded to the call to repent. The people flocked to John in great numbers and were convicted to the depths as was shown in their response in not only accepting the need to repent of their sin but through the outward sign of baptism in the river Jordan were able to show that they had turned from their old life to make a new start. This act can be seen as an outward and visible sign of an inward and invisible grace which would have been understood by many parts of the Church in the past. We know that our Lord sealed the teachings of John through His death and resurrection when rather than repentance and water baptism He has brought us total forgiveness with the washing and cleansing of His own precious blood. Many churches still place emphasis upon water baptism as showing a turning to Christ through repentance which is in line with the scriptures. Even if you are unable to accept full immersion water baptism I trust that you have accepted that you are a sinner and repented of your sin and relied on Jesus alone as your Saviour as the only way available in order to be reconciled to God.

John the Baptist is one of the most remarkable men who have lived. He had little but gave all. He gave himself that is every last breath. John stands in complete contrast to our own day. Even those who consider themselves as Christian are so taken up with self comfort or self importance that they are of little use to God. Above all, though, what the message of John still has to show us is the need to be alone with God. It is only by being alone with God that we can hear His voice.

When we do hear God’s voice we will have no doubts and be prepared to act upon what God tells us. We too will be the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Just like John was in the wilderness our own day is equally a wilderness. Unlike John’s day there is no inner witness of the cry of God through his prophet. Men and women have their own religion based on self importance. Great Britain through the intercession of the of the Holy Ghost living through the friend of the Holy Trinity called Brian Mason when the strongman lodged in St Paul’s Cathedral in London was cast out to the pit of hell has removed the blindness in the minds of the people so that they now have the chance to choose whether they accept Jesus as their Saviour or continue to follow the system of the antichrist.

Even in church fellowships there are splits and disobedience because there is a failure for members to come apart on an individual basis to listen to the voice of God and having heard to be prepared to obey. Very few are prepared listen, let alone obey. Reader where do you stand ?

Lord Jesus Christ thank you for the life and ministry of John the Baptist. Amongst men there has been no one greater than John. A man who had nothing but gave everything. John was prepared to decrease so that You could increase. He prepared the way for Your earthly ministry. Once You came Lord, John stepped aside. Jesus You like John gave Your all for us. You did not go part of the way to the cross but all the way with its agony and shame.

Despised and rejected as You were it was to go all the way in order that every person could have the chance to repent of their sin and be reconciled with God who is holy. Through Your own example and that of John I cry that I too will be the voice of one crying in the wilderness of my own day calling for people to repent of their sin. May this cry too be to call those who say they are Christians to be prepared to listen to Your voice and act in obedience. Lord let me be an instrument which just as John the Baptist prepared the way for Your first coming I will prepare the way for Your second coming. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to Your holy and blessed name. Amen.

8)  And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

1 Kings chapter 18 verse 21

Lord Jesus Christ my heart is on fire for you. If I did not give you your rightful place I am not a man of God. Lord I need you and you alone. It is in the place of loneliness when we have been separated from all that is natural that we can both hear your voice and become your voice.

Elijah was such a man. He had spent years separated from the world as he was totally immersed with God. Lord where are the men and women in our own day who are prepared to be separated unto yourself and hear your voice? In a world which does not want to know you even the Church resembles the world.

Many churches reflect the ways of the world. There is no submission to you but rather the concern is self importance. Lord how grieved your heart must be over the many splits caused within churches simply because self and self initiated agendas reign instead of yourself. Lord may my heart be continually broken for it is only through brokenness that we can know the deep things of yourself as our will is given to the Holy Ghost for him to live a life like yourself through our bodies which have become his temple.

Lord break me more each day for it is only in brokenness, brokenness and brokenness until none of self remains that your life, a life of compassion, a life of love, a life of authority will see all the will of the Father done through this the friend of the Holy Ghost. Lord just like the people of Elijah’s day those who call themselves Christian answer not a word because they fail to accept your way; the way of death to self and to be prepared to say not I but Christ lives in me. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to your holy name. Amen.

8)  The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

Acts of the Apostles chapter 5 verse 30

Lord Jesus Christ our hearts rejoice when we know you as the risen Christ. You are exalted at the right hand of the Father and have all power in heaven and on earth. The religious leaders during your earthly ministry did their utmost to criticise and hinder your work.

Their most awful deed was to condemn you to the worst possible death, that of crucifixion. Jesus you accepted death in our place in order to give us the chance of having our sins forgiven and receiving a new life; a one like yours as your resurrection life replaces our old self.

The apostles, too, experienced rejection from the religious leaders as they took the message about yourself to the people. In our own day those who stand firm to the gospel message of the need for sinners to repent of their sin and receive you as Lord and Saviour also suffer rejection from those who call themselves Christian. Jesus so many in our day do not see the importance to preach Christ crucified and the central truth of why your blood had to be shed.

Lord I remain faithful to making known the gospel message in all its power and am not afraid to speak of why your blood had to be shed for without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Jesus may the truths of the shedding of your precious blood and your glorious resurrection for when it is proclaimed that you are alive devils fear and fly.

Use me and all who come to study at Bible College Of Wales Continuing to stand firm to the preaching of the Gospel as it was preached by the Apostles. I will not follow the thinking of modern day theology but stand firm accepting only the teachings of your word.

This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to your name Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

9)  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you , the hope of glory.

Colossians chapter 1 verse 27

Lord Jesus Christ the depths of your love towards those who know you as Lord and Saviour is unfathomable. What love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God.

We are joint heirs in you Lord Jesus Christ because you loved us and gave yourself for us. We who are in you and you in us have the hope of glory for you are exalted at the right hand of the majesty on high. Jesus you are head of the Church which is built of living stones; the stones of the redeemed. Jesus there is the conception amongst many who call themselves Christian that the church is a physical building and that Christian worship is somehow only acceptable to you according to the number of those who attend, that is, the greater the number the more effective is the worship. Lord this thinking is not based on your word which says if two or three are gathered in your name you are in the midst.

Jesus on the basis of your word which says that “ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. “ I know that I continually abide in you, so I ask Jesus that this lie of the Devil that the church is dependent upon a building and can only be effective if large numbers attend the services is not only exposed but destroyed and this deceptive spirit cast out into the pit of hell.

Lord you are able to use the weakest man or woman in your service when they are fully surrendered to you. For your work is not by might, or by power but by my spirit is the clear word contained in the Bible and needs to be written upon the hearts of all who say they are yours. Unto him who has loved us and given himself for us be all praise for ever and for ever. Lord Jesus Christ this prayer is for your honour and glory as I live in the power of the Holy Ghost in accordance with all the promises of the Bible which have not changed and can still be acted upon in faith. Amen.

10)  Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 12

Lord Jesus Christ you are at the very centre of my life for all I desire is to be like you. There is no one like you so loving and kind. Although God you thought it not robbery to be equal with God. Even as God you made yourself of no reputation and humbled yourself when you laid your life down by accepting death in our place, in the most cruel death possible, that of being nailed to a cross.

Lord your thoughts are not the thoughts of the world. Those who are of the world are only concerned with the self life. It was the self life that Paul looked to address as the outstanding difficulty which was the root of all the trouble at Corinth. Paul has showed us that the carnal man and the spiritual man are held up to view in striking contrast. Lord this carnal man which was responsible in the church at Corinth for the lack of harmony is still prevalent in the church today.

This is still the prolific cause of division. Lord, how true a portrait this is of the “I” life of our day which is causing so much havoc in every direction amongst people. Lord the Church which should be your body still displays the “I” life through not being at peace for envy in the heart issuing in strife in the lip, causes division in the Body of Christ; the church is man-centred showing that it is partisan; the body has those who are hard to work with showing people have their own preferences; there are those who are critical as they make comparisons and there are those who are puffed up being full of self importance.

Lord Jesus how refreshing, though, to know that there is a spiritual man which we each can have in whom is displayed the Christ life. This life is available to all who want to be living stones in your body. Lord, one look at you as you suffered on the cross, despising its shame in order to redeem me from my sin is enough for me to say not I but Christ lives in me.

Thank you Lord that because I have said not I but Christ then every spiritual blessing has become available to me. Lord may all who say that they are Christian turn away from the “I” life of the flesh to the Christ life of the spirit so that your Church on earth is holy, righteous and pure. This prayer seeks to bring honour to your name. Amen.

11)  04 10 12

But he said, Yes rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it.

St Luke chapter 11 verse 28

Lord Jesus Christ may your people be those who having received your word both keep and obey it. In these days few are prepared to listen for your voice. Few of those who hear your voice are prepared to obey. Lord, how disobedient, indifferent and cold many who call themselves Christian have become towards you. Lord stir your people afresh so that they are not earthly minded and engrossed in self seeking.

In your mercy Lord call workers into your harvest field who will not only hear your voice but obey. Can we not but obey when these words of the hymn writer Isaac Watts take us to the very heart of Calvary and we see you on the cross carrying our sin in your own body.

When I survey the wondrous Cross
On which the Prince of glory died
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

12)  06 10 12

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; And he shall come unto us as the rain, As the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Hosea chapter 6 verse 3

Lord Jesus Christ all glory, honour, power, blessing, dominion and might are yours. Lord you are the same yesterday, to day and for ever. May all who know you go on to know you in all your fullness. Once we have tasted and seen that the Lord is good there is nothing else that can satisfy outside of yourself. May our eyes be ever upon yourself as we see you as you are; the compassionate, loving Lord who gave himself for us and having brought us to himself lives to make intercession for us.

Lord Jesus there is none like unto yourself as only you can reach into the depths of our beings and fill them with your own life; your resurrection life. In a world which is far from you Lord and can only offer pleasures which can never satisfy may we be dead to the world and give our whole life to you knowing that in you we shall find all we need. Lord Jesus may all those who have made a profession of faith in accepting you as Saviour go on to also know you as Lord.

Lord do your deep work of sanctification in each Christian so that your people go on to know you and become holy as you are holy. This prayer seeks only to bring honour to the name of our God. Amen.

13)  07 10 12

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

St John chapter 6 verse 33

Lord Jesus Christ our hearts are drawn to you for you alone have the words of life. You are the word of God; that living word which came down from heaven. Lord how can we thank you enough for all you are and all that you have done. Our words are inadequate in the light of your sufferings for us. Despised and rejected as man did his worst in turning away from yourself who alone are the means of eternal life.

Lord may our hearts be ever centred upon you as everything else in life pales into insignificance when we look upon your sacred face and see the suffering you endured so that we could be ransomed, healed, restored and forgiven.

Lord Jesus Christ may all Christians receive a revelation which shows them what their salvation cost and in doing so be fully satisfied in yourself. Lord thank you that in you there is enough life for all in the world.

Lord please let your loving heart reach out through those who know what it costs to be crucified with you so that the gospel will reach every last soul of every kindred, tribe and nation. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

14)  24 12 12

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 7

Lord Jesus Christ how we who own your name, who know you as Saviour and Lord should obey the word of God. It is written “ be ye holy, for I am holy.” Lord Jesus it is only when your blood is applied to the sinner that cleansing takes place and our filthy rags of sin are taken away and we are reconciled with a holy God. Yet Lord that is only the beginning.

Those who are born again unto a new life by the Holy Spirit need to seek after holiness through the means of sanctification. Lord I know that God can give us many things but only when we are hungry for them. What is the need of the Church today Lord? It is none other than to seek after holiness.

Why Lord are your people unwilling to walk in the ways of God and see after a holy life? Lord may the Holy Spirit place upon your people the aspirations to seek a holy life then live this day by day as the Holy Spirit impregnates that life with your own life.

O, Lord, that I and all who are hungry to live a life of cont inual holiness will each and every moment have the power and dynamic of a God-possessed life. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

15) 26 12 12

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart.

Psalm 24 verses 3 and 4

Lord Jesus Christ you are all holiness, all righteousness and all purity. Lord you have shown the very nature of God for you are God of God and very God of very God. As those who know and love you see and know God through you may we always give you the reverence which can only be given to God.

Lord there is nothing of ourselves which merited the forgiveness of our sins but by grace those who have repented of their sin have had their sins washed away. Lord look upon your body the Church today and cause the Church to see that the need of today is for a people who have pure hearts and clean hands. Yet Lord are your people hungry and thirsty enough to seek pure hearts and clean hands?

Lord awaken your Church to seek your face before it is too late. Place within your people the earnestness to take hold of you and not let go until you rend the heavens and pour water on the thirsty and floods upon the dry ground. Lord may you find those who will believe for and receive your holiness; lives through whom the Holy Spirit manifests yourself so that hearts are pure and hands clean. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

16)  27 12 12

And one cried unto another, and said, Holy ,holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: The whole earth is full of his glory.

Isaiah chapter 6 verse 3

Lord Jesus Christ you are worthy to receive glory and honour and power and blessing and dominion and might. You alone blessed Lord and Saviour are the Lamb of God which was slain before the foundation of the world. No one else dear Jesus as a lamb without spot or blemish could have offered themselves as the one perfect sacrifice for sin for ever.

Lord may we reverence your holiness and love you above everyone and everything else. The world is so corrupt in that it seeks its own selfishness. There is a big I written upon the lives of nearly everyone today instead of yourself filling that God shaped void within each life. Lord even your Church can be self centred following its own ways instead of obeying the Word of God in the Bible or listening for the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Lord send the Holy Spirit to those who seek you with a hunger which you cannot deny. Lord in your mercy and in response to the cry of those who are earnest come amongst your people and take your rightful place as Lord because they have seen that you are holy. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

17)  28 12 12

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

St John chapter 15 verse 7

Lord Jesus Christ may your Church see you in all of your glory, ever worshipping you as the rock upon which the Church is built. Lord we can never thank you enough for showing us the Father’s loving heart when you laid down your life on Calvary’s cross.

It is beyond our understanding that you, the eternal Son of God should give every last drop of your own blood so that sinners could be reconciled with a holy God. Lord, blessed Lord Jesus may we who know you never be half hearted in our love for you. May the cry of your Church be one of hunger and thirst, ever seeking for the windows of heaven to be opened and the life and power of God to be manifested once more as was the experience of your people when there have been mighty moves of the Holy Spirit in the past.

Lord Jesus it is only with pure hearts and clean hands that we will have the constant manifestation of God’s life and power through us. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

18)  17 01 13

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8

Lord Jesus Christ may I always remember that it is by grace that I am saved and that this is by faith. There was nothing in me that merited anything from God only to know that to be saved is a gift of God. Lord Jesus you have shown the loving heart of the Father in that you the sinless one carried the sin of mankind in your own body on the cross. Lord Jesus thank you for the offering of your own blood once and for all as the only acceptable sacrifice for sin.

Lord Jesus praise you that you are no longer on the cross as is still seen in some churches but have risen from the dead and are alive for ever more. Blessed Lord let there be that realisation that you are risen, ascended and glorified. Lord Jesus so many who call themselves Christian do not progress beyond the cross in their thinking. Lord Jesus may those who do know what it is to be saved through faith seek to grow in the knowledge of yourself. May there be a seeking after the righteousness of God. May there be a seeking after holiness.

Lord may you find those who look to go beyond consecration and sanctification to have implicit confidence in God. Lord Jesus may you find those who will go all the way with yourself and settle for nothing less than to walk in heavenly places as they are prepared to give you your rightful place of pre eminence. This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

19)  19 01 13

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Lord please show the living stones which compose

Your body the Church that it was expected that each believer in the early Church would as Paul writes in this verse to the Romans present their body as a living sacrifice unto God.

Amen.

20)  28 01 13

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

2 Timothy chapter 2 verse 21

Lord Jesus Christ may all who know you as Saviour and Lord hunger and thirst after you for you spoke of the rivers of living water flowing out of those who know you. Lord are my hands clean, is my heart pure? Do I want you more than anyone or anything else in life? Lord your supply is according to my seeking.  The more I want the more you supply. O for the joy of a life with you wholly at its centre. Thank you Lord for the discovery of the secret of holiness as this is the complete filling of the soul with your own life whereby the Christian then knows that sanctification is Christ enthroned.  This prayer seeks only the honour of the name of our God. Amen.

21) 17 02 13

And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.

1 Kings chapter 18 verse 30

Lord Jesus Christ you are Sovereign Lord. Even at a time of apostasy when many who call themselves Christian have gone after other gods you are still Sovereign Lord.. Jesus when the people of God had gone after Baal the prophet Elijah stood before the people and called upon them to decide between the Lord and Baal.  Lord, Elijah took the step of faith and repaired the altar of the Lord. Jesus the Church is also broken and in need of repair. Many who believe themselves to know you as Saviour have been deceived by another Jesus and are equally as much followers of Baal as in the days of Elijah. Lord the central truths of Christianity have become rejected by vast numbers of those who claim to be Christians.

How can this be Lord? When the truths of the need to be cleansed through your precious blood, the conviction of sin, repentance, hell, the need for the old life, every part of it, to be crucified and to have a new resurrection life, a life of holiness and one where the Holy Spirit lives within the body of the surrendered believer His own life like that of yourself Lord Jesus have been forsaken then Lord the altar of the Lord is in need of repair.

Lord how can teaching which does not call for full surrender and holiness but rather the improvement of self be of yourself. Lord please call out your remnant Church to be a people totally separated for yourself, a people who do not compromise the truths as contained in the New Testament: a people who are fully surrendered and sanctified where you rather than self are fully enthroned in each life.  This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to your holy name. Amen.

22)  20 02 13

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; And he shall come unto us as the rain, As the latter and former rain unto the earth.

 Hosea chapter 6 verse 3

Lord Jesus Christ you are the desire of my heart for in you is found the fullness of joy. For in you the Christian lives and moves and has his and her being for when you are everything to us it is you and not us who lives in us in the person of the Holy Spirit.  Yet, Lord, there are those who believe that if they do not provide some sort of entertainment they will not get the people to their church or when they do to be able to keep them.  O Lord what have many of the churches in Britain come to when they are places which look to please the flesh rather than for the flesh to be crucified and to be a people of the spirit and not of the flesh. Lord will you not once more bring people into a vital relationship with God, not by the sounds from men but by sounds from heaven. O God please bring a wave of godly fear both to the Church and throughout Britain.   This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God. Amen.

 23) 24 02 13

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 7

Father God, Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit, blessed Trinity, one God yet in three persons each working together in perfect unity. Lord God you are God and beside thee there is none other for it is your holiness which sets you apart from all other gods.  Lord, the hymn writer spoke of worshipping the Lord in beauty and holiness but how far the majority in the world today are from acknowledging your holiness, let alone worshipping you for your holiness.  Lord, set apart for yourself those who seek after holiness: a people who will not touch anything which is unclean.  Lord what can be more unclean than liberal teaching and the worship of the creature instead of the creator. Lord, these have come from the pit of hell and are taking souls on the conveyor to hell. Lord God bring judgement where judgement is needed but in judgement remember mercy.  Turn us Lord that we will be turned so that your holy character and your seeking of a holy people once more become central in the teachings of your Church for your honour is at stake.  This prayer seeks only to bring honour to the name of our God. Amen.

24)  26 02 13

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

2 Kings chapter 4 verse 2

Lord Jesus Christ you are the same yesterday, to day and forever. Lord there has been no one like yourself as although God you took the place of sinners and accepted death in order to set free sinners from the curse of sin. Lord in days when there is little understanding of sin or that sin cuts sinners off from knowing God bring conviction of sin which takes away the complacency towards eternity which is found in the majority of people.   Lord show how awful sin is in the sight of God and make known that hell awaits unrepentant sinners. In your mercy Lord spare not sinners from being shown themselves on the road to hell until they cry out to you for mercy. Lord you have given every last drop of your blood so that sinners can be forgiven. Lord for every sinner who does not repent and goes to hell it is a great tragedy as you loved that sinner so much as to die for them.   O to hear the cry of sinners crying is there mercy for me. Then Lord there is rejoicing in heaven over every repentant sinner. Lord may your Church be composed of cleansed vessels fit for your use.  Like Elisha found with the pot of oil which continued to flow until all the vessels were filled may there be a constant supply of vessels which can be used to make yourself known in a world which in the main has rejected yourself. This prayer seeks only to bring honour to the name of our God. Amen.

25)  31 03 13

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans chapter 5 verse 1

Lord Jesus Christ what joy there is when there is the  realisation that we are justified  by faith. O Lord, let there be each day in every country without exception those who are  born again of the Spirit of God.  Justified, Lord, what a word.  Lord Jesus you and you alone have justified the sinner by faith.  This is not something the sinner can do.

Faith through grace brings  the sinner to that glorious place of reconciliation with God.  To be at peace with God through knowing that your blood Jesus washes every repentant sinner from sin.

Not only this Lord but to know that sin, not in part but the whole will be destroyed when the sinner lets every part of the old sinful life go to the cross and receives a new life, that of your resurrection life.

In a world where most people do not know what peace is because sin prevents the peace of God from dwelling within the soul, Lord you alone can bring peace for you are the believers peace.  O Lord, thank you for the peace of God resting within the soul. For you said my peace I give unto you.

Lord may there be a fresh realisation within the Church that peace with God is through the grace of God as each sinner is reconciled by faith because of  your finished work and not by any works of the sinner.

Thank you, Lord, that lives can be free from the power of sin as you, Lord, have destroyed him who had the power of sin.

This prayer seeks to bring honour and glory to the name of our God.  Amen.

26)  01 04 13

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Hebrews chapter 12 verse 14

Lord Jesus Christ you are the only means of bringing peace into our lives for there is no peace until we are at peace with God.  In the world there are those who have everything that is thought able to give pleasure, and yet are never satisfied.

Their hearts are always aching.  There is a constant sense of emptiness within.  What is the secret of all this but none other than to have no peace with God.  There is a mountain between God and man which must be taken away: the mountain of sin which weighs heavy with the sense of guilt on the heart and this must be removed.

Lord Jesus on the cross you were made sin so that every sinner can be justified and forgiven when they repent.  O the blood, the cleansing blood, your blood alone dear Jesus,  which can wash the foulest sinner clean.

Yet, Lord, where are those today who call sinners to repentance and to be cleansed by your precious blood.

To speak of  the need for your blood to cleanse sinners today has been removed from the teaching of nearly all that is called Christianity.  Lord, because of this  sinners are heading to hell because they have no conviction of sin and remain bound by their sin as they have not been cleansed by your blood.

Lord in a godless age where sin rather than godliness abounds will you once more breathe new life, your life, into sinners so that men and women can be at peace with God.

Moreover, Lord, will you not set apart those who by your grace will be sanctified so that their lives are pure and holy and are free from sin.

This prayer seeks only to bring honour to the name of our God.  Amen.

27)  19 04 13

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

St John chapter 1 verse 29

Blessed Lamb of God can those who know you ever thank you enough for becoming the one perfect sacrifice for sin for ever.  The Lamb that was slain to cleanse the foulest sinner.  The mighty power of God to save to the uttermost.

Not only save blessed Lamb of God but create anew even the vilest of the vile.  In a world where sin manifests itself in every sphere blessed Lamb of God you have already brought God’s eternal solution.

Brokenness, brokenness, may there be Christians who are so broken that they cry to thee  O Lord, blessed Lord,  so that  your compassion will reach out through them to all whose lives are broken by sin because they are sinners in need of a saviour.

Lord you know that it is not human solutions which can make lives whole in spirit, soul and body but by being brought into a right relationship with God.

Blessed Lamb of God in your compassion reach out to those who will reach out to you so that the old sinful life is crucified and your own life creates anew the life which God is waiting to give to those who will come on God’s terms.

This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to God.  Amen.

28)  01 05 13

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2

Lord Jesus where else can we look but yourself.  Who else do we need to seek.  None other Lord for you have the words of life: you are life.   The author and finisher of our faith so who else do we need.  Lord you are all in all, the altogether lovely one, our never ending supply.

Who else but yourself Jesus would have seen death on a cross as joy.  Yet you did for you saw the redeemed of the Lord coming with singing unto Zion that beautiful city of God.  Joy not sadness for in you we live and move and have our being when our chains of sin have been broken.   Life, new life, resurrection life, a life like your own.

Life pouring through for all who have been cleansed by your blood have everlasting life within.    The cost Lord to you shame, rejection, suffering, pain and death.  To us life, your life continuously, light replacing the darkness of this world.

Set apart from the world as now branches of the vine reaching out with life to a lost mankind.  Sinners enchained awaiting to be set free. Sinners to be exhorted to let the Lord Omnipotent reign in their hearts by submitting to you that their souls should live.

Set free through your precious cleansing blood.    May the message that  Jesus saves  reach out through your vessels who are not filled with self but yourself.  Vessels of compassion, of love for they have your compassion and love flowing with no thought but to seek sinners to find forgiveness in you.

Glorious Jesus what a certainty to know that one day each of the redeemed will dwell with you forever worshipping you as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world for you are now seated at the right hand of the Father in the glory of heaven.

This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God.  Amen.

29) 07 05 13

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Psalm 107 verse 9

To be filled Lord, that is the cry in a dark and barren land.  For outside of thee Lord is a hunger which can never be filled.  It is you dear, blessed Jesus who alone is the soul’s satisfaction for you are life, eternal life, for you are God.  Lord, you are our manna  in the wilderness: that bread from heaven.  Bread, bread, the only bread which can fill the hungry soul.

The bread of life you give Lord, for you are the eternal Word who came to give His life.  Lord evermore feed us with this bread for you alone are that bread who feeds those who have that spiritual hunger to seek until they find.  Lord how your Church is unfilled today for it does not have that hunger for Yourself.  A void, an emptiness, a lack of presence and empowerment, a weak imitation of the world.

A spiritual bankruptcy because it has turned from thee and gone after that which can never satisfy for it is not the bread of life, it is not thee but another Jesus.  A Jesus who does not feed the spiritual hunger of today for this other Jesus is concerned with the carnal life rather than the crucifixion of the flesh.  Lord Jesus awaken Your Church once more to seek Yourself afresh through a hunger for Yourself, the bread of life.

Lord evermore give us this bread of life and in doing so we will seek after holiness for this is God’s standard in the believer.  May nothing else in life be more important than to become more like Yourself Jesus with each passing day.  This prayer seeks only to bring honour to the name of our God.  Amen.

30)  Prayer 17th. July 2012

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Hebrews chapter 11 verse 8

Lord Jesus Christ you are the only Saviour for you alone were the perfect sacrifice for sin once offered on Calvary’s cross.  It is in the blood that we find life, your blood.  In these days Jesus when to speak of the blood and the cross are looked upon with scorn like in the days of your earthly ministry you too were also looked upon with scorn, even despised and rejected by the religious leaders of the day.  Lord nothing has changed in that you still reach out to repentant sinners to be cleansed through your blood whilst the religious leaders continue to seek the praise of man rather than obey God.  Abraham obeyed without questioning and you were able to fulfil all your covenant promises through him.

Lord what a small word obey is yet few today are prepared to obey you let alone trust you.  Should those whom you have called to follow you have obeyed and applied  to be trained for ministry then this college would have been overwhelmed with applications.  Sadly, Lord, this is a reflection of the shallowness of the majority today, lives which will not obey and will not surrender to you :self rather than Yourself.  Lord your command is to preach the gospel to every creature.

Lord surely there are still those who like Abraham will obey when called to go out for you.  This present generation is put to shame when compared to those who although they had nothing answered your call and stepped out in faith with yourself.  This was gloriously proved by those who went to train at The Bible College Of Wales under Rees Howells.  Jesus you are the same yesterday, today and forever. Let there be those who still dare to obey and to trust you.  This prayer seeks only to bring honour and glory to the name of our God.  Amen.

31)  09 08 13

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Psalm 51 verse 17

Lord God how can I withhold anything from yourself in the light of Calvary. No sacrifice is too great as one glance at the bruised and bleeding Lamb of God nailed to that blood stained wooden cross is enough. Lord God, Father God you spared not your own Son, sending Him into a sin ruined world in order to provide the means of reconciling sinners with a holy, righteous and pure God. Father God you have seen the blood of Jesus and been satisfied.

Once I was without hope fast tracked to an eternity without yourself  for I did not know yourself.  O what love, a love without measure for your own love alone could restore the lost communication between yourself and those who could not of themselves reach out and find you.  Lord when I saw that I was a sinner for whom Jesus died all changed for I then knew I had to repent of my sin and accept Jesus as my Saviour.  Lord my sin not in part but the whole has gone to the cross never to be remembered again by yourself.

May I Lord have within me a broken spirit and a contrite heart, a heart like that of Jesus.  Nothing for self, all for you as when measured with Calvary this is the least I can do for you.  This prayer seeks only to bring honour to the name of our God. Amen.

32)  23 09 13

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

St John chapter 12 verse 43

Lord Jesus Christ you are given the pre-eminence in this prayer and in the ministry in which your servant serves you.  Lord you show those who will look to you what it means to have a servant heart in a life which looks to the need of others instead of one centred on itself.  Lord the Bible speaks of being more blessed to give than receive.

These days Lord there has been a rejection of the Word of God as a false gospel has replaced the Biblical gospel, one which starts and ends with the needs of man instead of starting and ending with God.  With the man centred gospel you will never be given the pre- eminence for those who follow this false gospel instead of following you are only concerned with themselves.  They will only seek the praise of men because they do not have a living relationship with yourself as they are not in a right relationship with God.

There is no submission to present their bodies as living sacrifices to know the person of the Holy Spirit living His life through them or to have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Indeed how can there be Lord when the false gospel does not give a true concept of God as there is no understanding of the holiness, goodness and sovereignty of their almighty creator. Lord without an understanding of the meaning of sin and an explanation of what are sins within individual lives today there is no conviction of sin.

Lord this false gospel has cheapened your death at Calvary for it calls sinners to say they are sorry without a deep repentance of sin. Lord  surely a gospel without a clear call for repentance is another gospel which is false for this false gospel also fails to call for a complete change of life whereby all things become new.  This change of life places you as the object of faith and in doing so there will be no seeking the praise of others for we now know we live and move and have our being in you.  Lord Jesus Christ I call upon you to us your servant and others like him to bring back the Biblical gospel as know by the apostles and the early Church.  This prayer seeks only to bring honor to the name of our God.  Amen.

33)  01 09 14

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1 John chapter 4 verse 18

Heavenly Father your Word declares that “God is love.” Because God is love then it follows that there should be no fear in those who are yours when they have experienced the new birth. That is a new birth through repentance and faith by grace having been washed in the blood of thy Son. There is only a holy fear in reverence of who you are not fear which torments and destroys. Father why is there torment amongst those who say that they are Christian? Surely something is not right. Lord bring into your light all fears and torments amongst those who say they are yours for these are not of you. They can only have come from the enemy, that liar the Devil himself. Father may all who say they know Christ come into the fullness of Christ. All that is needed for the Christian life is found in Christ. He has already obtained our righteousness and sanctification and everything else. May all who say that they belong to Christ not live as someone separate to Him. Lord let the devil and his cohorts be given a mighty setback by thy people coming to know and act by faith in their Biblical position which is Christ in me and me in Christ. Knowing we have Christ living in and through us then we have the God who is love living within. Lord fear which torments can no longer have a hold for it is the Christ within who is in control. This prayer seeks only to bring glory to you Father and is asked on the basis of your unchanging character and in the name you cannot deny that which is above every other name the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

2 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 4

Almighty and Everlasting God you have given all that is needed for life through your Son Jesus Christ. He alone obtained salvation for all who will believe. He alone can live the Christian life and will do this through those who abandon their lives wholly to Him. Lord just as Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit day by day during His time on earth those who belong to Jesus can only do the same. O God there is a blindness to accept that Jesus is the only one who can live the Christian life and that it is the Holy Spirit who will do this when we are baptized by Him. Lord cause there to be a thirst for receiving the Holy Spirit by those who have received Jesus and have the foundation of Biblical truths operating in their lives. Yet Lord without the baptism of the Holy Spirit there is no unction or power either in preaching or prayer. Grant Lord the bringing together of Bible knowledge and the Holy Spirit in the lives of those who only have one of either the Bible or the Holy Spirit. Lord today there is emphasis upon one without the other. O God what could you do with reformed Protestants who are sound in the Bible yet lacking the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Almighty God bring the Bible and the Holy Spirit together in each one who belongs to your Son Jesus. Then Lord what a weapon is within them. A weapon to pull down the strong holds of Satan and his evil spirits wherever he seeks to interfere in human affairs. Even greater Lord to be able to walk those corridors of power and to come before thy throne and be certain that our prayers have been granted. This prayer comes with the assurance that you have heard and answered for this is for your glory alone. Amen.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:1

Father in these days where often there is a lack of deep preaching and teaching of your Word may there be a restoration to making known the person of the Holy Spirit. Often the Holy Spirit is thought of as a presence rather than a person. How can there be such a lack of understanding when the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity?

Father what appears not to be made known is that no single man or woman can receive the Holy Spirit until he or she has made a full and complete surrender. This must be so for how can the Holy Spirit as a Divine person share His life with anyone?

When He comes into our lives He has to come in as God and our old self-centred life go out. O Father may this amazing life in the Holy Spirit become the norm of Christianity for He alone can bring in all that is of God. From this sacred moment of His coming to live in us it is then in God we live and not to any selfish motives. Thank you Father that in this new realm that when He wants to do something through us He will make this plain.

What freedom there is Father in this life of the Holy Spirit a life in which you always will receive the glory for this is asked in your Son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

34) Prayer

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

1 Thessalonians 4:7

Father what a calling you have made to those who know you as Father and are able to speak to you as their Abba Father. Your Word here makes clear that this calling has nothing to do with uncleanness.

There is the expectancy that when a sinner has repented of their sin and received a pardon having received a new heart, a cleansed heart, through the washing thoroughly from all sin and stain by the blood of Jesus that a new life has started. The new life by becoming sons of God demands a change for old things have passed away and all things become new.

A life received in Christ as day by day there can be that growing into His likeness. O what a life! Fullness of joy and overcoming all the trials whilst in this world. Not of the world but of Him for as He is so are we in this world and as we grow into Him His holiness through an entire sanctification then He becomes our own. Thank you Father for this is the over-comers life in Christ, not sinners saved by grace like some who still see themselves as sinners even though forgiven by yourself but seen by yourself as spotless for you see Christ in us and as us.

This prayer is offered to you through the name you cannot deny that of your Son Jesus Christ and for your glory alone. Amen.

35)  11 06 15  Yielding to Jesus

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Philippians 1:20 KJV

Heavenly Father may we who know you as Abba Father never be ashamed in anything which we are asked to do. We shall feel ashamed, though, if we do not yield to Jesus on any point which He has asked us to yield.

Thy servant Paul was determined to be his utmost for the highest he could give to your Son Jesus Christ. Help each one of your children to get to this place of giving their utmost by a surrender of their will so as to fully obey the call of Jesus.

Then we shall know what it is to be absolutely and entirely for Jesus and Jesus alone. This prayer is asked in the name which is higher than any other that of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

36)  22 06 15  Humility

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

Ephesians 3:8

Heavenly Father how thy ways are so different from the world. Your servant Paul came to know that as he decreased so the life of your Son Jesus could increase within him. May we as those who have come to receive this life in your Son be of like mind and be willing to decrease so that He can increase.

Then we shall know the riches which are the only true riches which are the unsearchable riches of Him dwelling within our hearts: And for us to live in Him where He now lives seated in heavenly places where you dwell with Him and the Holy Spirit.

This prayer is offered as a sweet-smelling savour in the name which is above all other names, that of your Son the Lord Jesus Christ so that you will be glorified in the Son. Amen.

37)  03 07 15

How to receive the deep things of God.

For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Philippians 1:21

Father God thy servant Paul was determined that whether by life or death nothing would prevent him from doing exactly what God wanted to be done.

May each one who knows you as Father be brought to the place where you ask them to be their utmost for you, even should this take a crisis in life in order for this to take place.  Whatever this may be, do it Father, so as to bring us to decide to seek for the deep things of God rather than remain in the shallows content with the ordinary rather than to be extra-ordinary.

It is the bold who will surrender their will and go all the way with your beloved Son who gave His all for us. May we give our all to Him. Father with confidence this prayer is made to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that you will be glorified in the Son. Amen.

38) 07 07 15

Dependence upon God

He went out not knowing whither he went.

Hebrews 11:8

Almighty God what a precious lesson you have shown in thy servant Abraham. You called Abraham to go out of his own country and he went without questioning and in full confidence in yourself. He knew that God knows what He is doing. His trust was in God entirely.

O God may you too like you did with Abraham reveal to us who you are. May we believe in a miracle-working God so that we will go out in such a surrender that we will not be surprised at anything that you do.  Let our attitude be one of a life which is a continual ‘going out’ in dependence upon God, a life which shows forth complete satisfaction to Jesus.

Not a life which has gone out of being dependent upon experiences but one of faith whereby there is nothing between ourselves and God. Let this be for your glory alone O God for this is asked in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

39)   22 07 15 - Giving All to God

And Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Genesis 22:9

Almighty God may this incident of Abraham help your people see that it is not of yourself to think that the final thing you want is the sacrifice of death. Show O God what you are looking for is the sacrifice through death which enables us to do what Jesus did which was to sacrifice our lives.

This O God is to sacrifice my life to God. Loosen the bands which hinder the life of Jesus working within your people by their identification with the death of Jesus. Then, O God, it is not giving their lives for death but to be a living sacrifice.

May we thy people let you have all our powers which have been saved and sanctified through Jesus. Then O God you will have the thing which is acceptable to God. This prayer is offered as a sacrifice to you O God so that you will be glorified in the Son. Amen.

40)  13 08 15

  • Be still and listen

And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

Genesis 15:12

Almighty God may we learn to be still and listen. When you give a vision followed by darkness may we wait rather than rush ahead. There is often the urge to want to rush rather than wait for your time. What a lesson we have here for we are not to think we can try and help God fulfil His word. Abraham went through years of silence which proved to be precious and vital years for in them all self-sufficiency was destroyed.

May we too have no confidence in the flesh. Take us from having confidence in ourselves, in men and women of God, in books and prayers. Bring us into absolute confidence in God Himself rather than in His blessings. Then we shall know that God is real for then nothing which others do can disturb us when we are built entirely on God.  This is asked through the name above all other names that of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

  • Backslidden Christianity

I will heal your backslidings.

Jeremiah 3:22

Almighty God although these words were spoken to your backslidden people in Old Testament times they can still speak today. Instead of a backslidden Israel there is a backslidden Christianity. A Christianity in many parts of the world which no longer has Jesus Christ at its centre. A Christianity which has rejected your Word by doing the opposite to that which your Word demands. Instead of the prophets and priest of Baal under the Old Testament there are the present day prophets and priest as Baal calling themselves Christian.

O God your honour is at stake whilst that which is unclean, unholy continues. At various times in the Old Testament you intervened and turned the people back to yourself by bringing judgment leading to repentance. Are these days any different? In your own supernatural way O God come once more and judge that which is unclean and calls itself Christian. In the midst of an unclean Christianity turn us O God from our backslidings to repent of our sin. Restore us and make us clean, washed through the blood of Jesus.

For your glory O God alone this is asked through the name which is above all other names that of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

41) Prayer - 21 08 15

  • Glorified in Christ

Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

St. John 12:28

Father God what a confirmation you gave to those who heard your voice confirming that Jesus Christ is your Son. Those gracious words in the ears of Jesus’ disciples have sounded down the years. No one except your Son could have brought glory to the Father whilst Jesus was on earth. He asked Father that you would glorify your name. You could not deny such a request for it was not for selfish gain. Here was a full consecration to all of your will.

Because Jesus chose your way you glorified Him too. Crucified, risen, ascended and glorified. Sat at your right hand. May those who are sanctified having been set free from sin even whilst still on earth both know and act upon that they too are glorified in Christ. Father impress this position in Christ to be the place of boldness in prayer for as He is so are we in the world. This prayer is asked that you Father will be glorified in your Son Jesus Christ in whom this request in made. Amen.

2.Sending handkerchief’s to the sick one

So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Acts of the Apostles 19:12

Father God your servant Paul was used in praying for healing by the means of sending handkerchiefs to the sick one. Your servant Smith Wigglesworth was also used in this way. Father has this way of healing ceased or is it that unbelief has brought a dark shadow over this as a means of healing?

Your Word states ‘Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, to day and forever.’

On the strength of your Word then the use of handkerchiefs which have been prayed over is still for today. Father restore this way of healing the sick ones and even use your servant who brings this prayer to you in such a way.

For your glory let this be, Father, for this is asked in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

42)  17 08 15 Prayer -

  • Making free from sin.

In who we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

Ephesians 1:7

Heavenly Father what a word redemption is. A word which speaks of buying back, a word which tells us of making free from sin. O who could buy back or who could make free from sin? There was only one who could and you sent Him into the world because you loved, O how you loved.

He took upon Himself the punishment for sin when He was made sin. Your wrath against sin was outpoured when He took the sinner’s place. He accepted death the punishment for sin. The spiritual death which when Adam had disobeyed you spiritual death came upon all as communication with you was lost and fellowship with you withdrawn. Yet your Son Jesus Christ said not my will but thine be done. He alone could buy back and make free from sin.

Thank you Father He did through the one perfect offering for sin, His own blood. Clean, clean, is now our cry when He has set us free. May all who can communicate and have fellowship with God satisfy Him with their love and devotion.

A perfect God who has provided a perfect salvation through His only begotten Son. Take the glory Father as this prayer is asked so that you will be glorified in your Son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

2.

Prayer exposing the false teachers of the emerging church and accommodation gospel.

Is not my word like as a fire? Saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Jeremiah 23:29

Almighty God in the days of Jeremiah there were false pastors who destroyed and scattered your sheep through leading them astray through not teaching them your way according to your word. Is anything different in these days? Instead of false pastors in Judah there are false teachers in what is called the Emerging church. False teachers too who have another gospel that which is called the accommodation gospel.

Teaching based on the ideas of man rather than the word of God. Teaching looking to satisfy human wants rather than based on the word of God. O God in Old Testament times you sent your people into exile until they turned back to you in repentance. Your word through Jeremiah is spoken of as being like a fire and a hammer which breaks the rock in pieces. O God what are you going to do with the false teachers of the Emerging church and accommodation gospel?

I ask you to send the fire and use the hammer of your true word to bring all who have been led astray to repent of their sin and come to the true shepherd of the sheepfold your Son Jesus Christ.

For your glory, your glory alone is this asked through the name which you cannot deny that of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

43) 03 09 15 - Prayers

  • Christ living within us.

But we all, with open face beholding, as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:18

Heavenly Father may the characteristic of the Christian life which is unveiled frankness before God become a mirror for other lives. For it is by being filled with the Spirit that we are transformed and that by beholding the Lord we become mirrors. May those who have Christ living within them by His Spirit guard to keep their life open towards God. How this is the need to be constantly in the place of beholding our precious Jesus to keep our life absolutely spiritual all through.

Other things can be let come and go, other people will criticise our devotion to Jesus yet in beholding Him nothing will distract us from having a life that is hid with God in Christ. Father although the severest discipline in the Christian life is to learn how to keep ‘beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord’ may this become the norm rather than the exception. Father this prayer is for your glory for it is asked through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  • Then sacrifice of brokenness

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Psalm 51:17

O God your Word makes clear what sacrifices you require. Yet in these days that which is most needed in worship of yourself is that which is usually missing. There are offerings of that which is in the physical and offerings which do not bring about an inward change.

O God bring us to the position of having a broken spirit and a broken and a contrite heart for here in the sacrifice of brokenness is that which is the brokenness of your Son being poured out in worship of yourself. Then as Jesus was broken to give life to those who seek Him so His life through us will show those who as yet do not know Him how God is expecting to be worshipped.

This prayer is asked for your glory alone O God. Amen.

44) 15 09 15  Prayers

  • Jesus’ words are amazingly hard.

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise.

Hebrews 11:39

Father the list of those recorded in the book of Hebrews is of men and women of faith. The most remarkable deeds were done because they believed. Nothing and no one was able to deter them from doing that which you had called them to do. Yet amongst these words which are for our encouragement there is reported that they ‘received not the promise.’ Father in Jesus all the promises of God are yea and amen.

May those who are your children because they have received the life of God in Jesus Christ take hold of the promises as in the Bible and claim these promises for their own lives. Yet these promises will test out the sheep from the goats for the words of Jesus are amazingly hard. He speaks the sternest words and tests out who is in earnest to become a vessel of honour to God. This is so opposite to that easy, self-centred message which is given in much of the so called Christianity and church of today. Father the men and women of faith in Hebrews did not have an easy life.

They were tested beyond measure and still overcame all obstacles. Sift out today those who are in earnest, who will not be deterred by Jesus hard words and become those vessels for your honour rather than their own. To you Father be the glory for this is asked through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  • The most vital message of Christianity today

Separated unto the gospel of God.

Romans 1:1

Heavenly Father may we realise that our calling is not just to be holy men and women but also proclaimers of the gospel of God. How in these days where the ungodly have become more bold against the proclamation of the gospel should the gospel of God be realised as the abiding reality. The reality is that of redemption to be the most vital message of Christianity today. For reality is not heaven or hell or holiness or human goodness. O God write on our hearts that redemption is the only reality.

For when redemption does become our only reality then we are in reckless abandon to God. What a place to be abandoned to God rather than being taken up with our own characters. Like Paul may we be unconscious of ourselves so as to be reckless and abandoned and separated unto God for one purpose to proclaim the gospel of God. O God may this reckless abandonment be seen these days in the street preachers of the United States of America like Jesse Morrell and those in Great Britain and devils fear and fly as the gospel message of redemption is proclaimed in anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Glory to the redeeming power of the blood of your Son Jesus Christ which has not and will not lose its power to cleanse repentant sinners of their sin. Heavenly Father this prayer is asked and the answer received for it is asked in the name you cannot deny that of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

25 09 15 Prayer

The greatest sacrifice of all

Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice of your faith, I joy and rejoice with you all.

Philippians 2:17

Father God your Son Jesus Christ was the greatest sacrifice of all when He poured out His life-blood as the only acceptable sacrifice for sin. May you in these days of self-centred lives find those who are willing to be offered for your work.

Those who will pour out their lives on the sacrifice of the faith of others. May I always be one of these. This prayer is radical for it goes against current thinking which does not want to be offered up to God or let God choose our work. No in these days the ‘I’ is at the centre of life even in those who say that they are Christian. For the ‘I’ wants to be in control and be amongst those people who will praise our works.

O God not my way but your way which defies the world’s way of ‘not God’s way but my way.’ Map out your way for me O God, the way which means being a door-mat under other people’s feet.  Even should this mean I am so hopelessly insignificant that I am never thought of again in connection with the life I served. I am willing to spend and be spent instead of seeking to be ministered to but to minister to you and all whom I serve.

O God show this to be your way instead of what is called Christianity today which seeks to be ministered to rather than to serve as living sacrifices.  Father for your glory this is asked through your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

Daniel’s miraculous deliverance

I make a decree. That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

Daniel 6:26

Almighty God how amazing it is that King Darius who was a heathen ruler of  what was the then known world should have made this decree. Darius had seen Daniel cast into the den of lions. He knew that Daniel should have been killed by the lions yet he also knew that Daniel was different. Daniel had faith in a God which Darius did not know yet in some way expected to preserve the life of Daniel. When on the following morning Darius came to the lion’s den he was told by Daniel that Daniel’s God had shut the mouths of the lions. O God what a supernatural intervention which convinced Darius of your holiness and almightiness. O God in these days also hear the prayers of your people who are in prison for their faith in Jesus Christ to be preserved through the trials in order to show unbeliever’s that there is still a living God whose kingdom shall not be destroyed no matter what comes against your people. O God this is asked for your glory as it is asked in the name you cannot deny that of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

  • Wholly separated unto God

We are made as the filth of the world.

1 Corinthians 4:13

Father God what a statement Paul makes here. Yet do we know this as he did to be ‘made as the filth of the world?’ This will not be so should we not be prepared to stoop or we will not bend. Your servant Evan Roberts so used by yourself in the Welsh Revival of 1904 was heard to call to you ‘bend me, bend me.’ O God find in our hearts that willingness to stoop, to bend to all that you ask so as to be wholly separated unto you and the spread of the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Then what a privilege to be treated as the off-scouring of the earth as long as the gospel is made known. Then through us you can make known the redemptive reality of God so that even the vilest can be reached with the gospel. The vilest who can never get to the bottom of the love of God in Jesus Christ. Father may we know that when we are separated for the gospel it is not for anything of ourselves only for you ‘to reveal your Son in me.’ Take the glory due to yourself Father as this prayer is asked in the name of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers 28 09 15

  • A living, vibrant and personal faith in Jesus Christ

If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.

St. John 7:37

Father how spiritually dry is Christianity in the countries of the Western world. Once there was a yielding to the missions call when men and women gave their lives to take the gospel to Africa and Asia.  Instead of yielding their all to you this has often been replaced by the seeking after entertainment as the world has come into the church to tell people what they want to hear. There is a self-centred message which encourages sin as though this has now somehow acceptable to God.

O God your honour is at stake when the church is allowed to be the laughing stock of devils with its sinful lives and carnival atmosphere. O God awaken nominal Christians to a living, vibrant and personal faith in Jesus Christ.

Then once more will be restored a yielding to you rather than that of wanting for self. Father thank you that as this prayer is asked in the name of your Son Jesus Christ whose name you will never deny then the answer has come for it is for your glory alone. Amen.

  • When the crisis comes

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

2 Timothy 4:6

Heavenly Father what a word we have here, a word which goes against the grain of human thinking. Are we prepared to tell God that we are ready to be offered? For here there is no place for complaint in accepting the consequences whatever they may be no matter what God chooses. In the crisis of the will let each one go through for the alternative is to draw sympathy for ourselves.

O God bind us to the altar of sacrifice that place of fire to burning and purification for the purpose of destroying every relationship which God has not started and every attachment that is not an attachment in God.

What a position to be in for when the crisis comes we will realise that things cannot touch us as they used to. O God find those who will tell you that they are ready to be offered then you shall prove yourself to be all that they ever dreamed that you would be. This prayer is brought to you in absolute confidence for it is asked in the name which is higher than any other name that of your Son Jesus Christ and for your glory. Amen.

Abandoned to God

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself.

Acts of the Apostles 20:24

Father in these days of shallowness of what calls itself Christianity may there be those who will look at what they really count dear. For where are those whose lives really evidence that they have been gripped by Jesus Christ? For in place of being gripped by Jesus Christ has come instead to count service shows us differently. He counted his life dear for one purpose only that of being able to fulfil the ministry He had received. His energy was not to be used for any other purpose. He was absolutely against anything else than total abandonment to your will which should be the norm for the Christian.

With this ever before us we shall never consider whether we are of use to you Father, for we shall instead ever consider that we are not our own but for God alone.  Father may that which was evidenced in the life of Paul also be evidenced in the lives of Christians today who abandon their will to God. This prayer is asked through Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

  • The true nature of love

And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? She hath wrought a good work on me.

St. Mark 14:6

Father how I need to have love which carries me beyond myself for love which does not do so is not love at all. It may have affection, it may have warmth of feeling but it does not have the true nature of love in it. May I realise that there are things which I can bring to God which are of value to Him. These may not be Divine or seen as marvellous. These are the ordinary simple things which are the evidence to God that I am abandoned to Him.

Father can I produce in the heart of the Lord Jesus what Mary of Bethany produced? Thank you Father that the Holy Spirit has shown that to be abandoned to God is of more value than personal holiness. For personal holiness focuses on concern on how I walk and talk and look. Concerned over whether I might offend God. Grant Father that at all times it will be perfect love as received in the life of the Lord Jesus which will cast all these other things out because I am abandoned to God.

Now I have seen that it is not a question of being of use to God but being of value to God then as I am abandoned to God for He will then work through me all the time.  Father this prayer is for your glory for it is asked through Jesus Christ. Amen.

09 11 15

Abandoned to Jesus

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you, though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

2 Corinthians 12:15

Father it is when the Holy Spirit has shed the love of God in our hearts that we start to identify ourselves with Jesus Christ’s interests in other people. Jesus is still interested in others whoever they may be or wherever they live. How we too seek to love and delight like Jesus did to lay down our lives for our friends. Father that must be so when He has our will He has our all so it is Him through us who is laying down His life today.

We shall deliberately lay our lives out for Him and His interests in other people rather than for a cause even should that cause be Christianity or Church. May you find those today in all nations who shall give you their will so that like your servant Paul they shall ‘be made all things to all men that I might by all means save some,’ May I like Paul be a sacramental personality then wherever I go or whoever I contact by modern technology Jesus Christ can help Himself to my life.

For this is being abandoned to Jesus and having nothing of a self-life left to be served. Father this is asked and received through Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

Obedience

And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

St. Luke 5:6

Father, Peter and those who had been fishing overnight had returned without even one fish. The night had been barren yet when Jesus told them to let down their net they obeyed. It was in this obedience that there was caught an abundance of fishes. Their nets were full to overflowing. What a lesson there is here for each one of your children. The abundance came through obedience.

Had Peter and the others not cast their nets into the sea then they would have still not caught any fishes. Father may your children always be listening for Jesus to speak to their hearts and when He does obey what He is saying to do.

Then Father there will be a blessing for others. For your purpose is to bless others through us as we receive then there is an abundance of whatever you give to us to be poured out through us to whoever is in need of God. Father for your glory alone this is asked through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

The life of discipleship

And as they followed, they were afraid.

St. Mark 10:32

Father when I first came to your Son Jesus Christ it was as though I knew all about Him. Now, though, I am not quite so sure. Jesus went before His disciples and they were amazed. He goes before me too and at times He appears strange. For Jesus can chill the heart of the disciple to the core and make the whole spiritual life grasp for breath. His face was set like a flint and His determination strikes terror into us.

He takes up with a point of view I know nothing about and I am amazed at Him. It was because Jesus Christ had to fathom every sin and every sorrow man could experience which makes Him appear strange to me.  It is this discipline of dismay which is an essential necessity in the life of discipleship. Father help me and all who are in Christ that when the darkness of dismay comes I and they shall endure until it is over because out of it will come unspeakable joy. Father this prayer is brought to you through your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

  • The crisis of true conversion

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

St. John 6:66

Father thy Son knew what it was for to have those who at first appeared to be dedicated to following Him but when Jesus spoke about the cost of being a disciple many were no longer interested in following Him. For there is a cost to a life which is totally given to Jesus. It is the way which calls for each one who says that they are a Christian to show that they truly belong to Jesus when temptations come and tests come.

Only the life of Jesus within us will take us through the temptations and tests. Father this is why those who are not grounded in your Word in the Bible will fall away. For where there is only a continuous seeking after what is called experiences there is no foundation upon which to be rooted when the storms of life blow. Father many who call themselves Christian chase after what are seen as experiences of the Holy Spirit which are a deception by devils. Father send the light of the true Holy Spirit by revelation and speak to the hearts of the deceived so that they will not go back.

Bring about the crisis of true conversion which will bring in the life of Jesus so that there will be rejoicing in taking up the cross daily in a life laid down for Jesus rather than one which is never satisfied for it craves after experiences which have no foundation in your Word. Father be glorified in the Son for this is asked through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Absolutely Abandoned to God

I am glorified in them.

St. John 17:9

Father these words were spoken by your Son Jesus Christ as part of His prayer to you for His disciples when Jesus knew that He would soon be returning to sit at your right hand. These words also apply today to those who belong to your Son because of the redemption that has been worked in their lives by faith.

Faith in the atonement. Faith in the grace of God which has given salvation to repentant sinners as a gift and not of works. A gift of the life of the giver who is the gift of life. He who is life becomes their glory. For all that you have to give Father is given through Jesus Christ.

Father gather unto yourself a people who are absolutely abandoned to you in Jesus Christ so just as He abandoned Himself to you so will they say ‘not my will but thine be done.’ Then the same Holy Spirit who lived and worked through your Son whilst He was on earth shall do the same in me and others so that Jesus Christ will be manifested at all times and be glorified in us too. This prayer is asked and the answer already received for it is asked through Him you cannot deny Jesus Christ our Lord so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

  • For God’s Glory Alone

Preach the word.

2 Timothy 4:2

Father how your Word shows that we are not saved just to be vessels of honour unto yourself but to be sons and daughters of God. There is the compelling within to thrust us into becoming spiritual messengers and the message must be part of ourselves. Our Lord Jesus Christ was His own message for His words were spirit and life. As His disciples our lives need to be the sacrament of our message.

Father the natural heart will accept to serve. It is the broken heart, though, a heart broken by conviction of sin and then baptised in the Holy Spirit which becomes crumpled into the purpose of God before the life can become the sacrament of its message. Father hear this prayer in an age of self-sufficient hearts even amongst those who call themselves Christian and break and crumple hearts to conform to the image of your Son Jesus Christ so that it is the sweet-smelling savour of His life which becomes the aroma of our message, for we become His message.

For your glory alone is this asked through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Absolute Devotion

Will ye also go away?

St. John 6:67

Father how this is a penetrating question to those who call themselves to be Christian. Your Son Jesus Christ speaks so clearly and so simply that His words leave no room for misunderstanding. Father it is our spiritual relationship of abiding in Jesus Christ and He in us which alone will give us such joy that we will not give any thought of going away. For where could we go as He alone has the words of life?

What can come in place of that vital cord of a living relationship with the living God as received in Jesus Christ alone. Thousands upon thousands have drifted away having been lured by the wisdom of men in the form of the Church of Rome or the self-centred life of the promises of man through the emergent church. Father these allurements appeal to the lusts of the flesh. Have those who have turned away ever known you through Jesus Christ?

Should they have then in your mercy will you not draw them back to the true shepherd of the sheep?  For we can never live the life of God on any other line than God’s line and that line is absolute devotion to Him. Father ever keep us fully surrendered unto you as just as Jesus did may our prayer ever be not my will but thine be done.

For thy glory, thy glory alone Father is this asked through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Abandonment to God

Then Peter began to say unto Him, Lo, we have left all and have followed Thee.

St. Mark 10:28

Father in these days when Christianity is being shown as having a message of what can I get what has happened to the message which calls for an abandonment of the whole of a Christian’s life to your Son Jesus Christ?

Abandonment to Jesus was to Himself and not for what the disciples themselves would get from it. In these days there is an abandonment which seeks to give in order to receive something back which is financial or material. Abandonment as what Jesus spoke of was not for anything at all. In fact, Father, abandonment has become so commercialised that it has been reduced to only coming to God for something from Him and not for Himself.

Father what a terrible self-centred Christianity there is, one which says no Lord I do not want you, I only want myself. Father turn us to want Jesus for whom He is and not for any selfish wants. For if we only give up something to God because we want something back there is nothing of the Holy Spirit in our abandonment.

Sadly, Father, this is what most of that which calls itself Christianity today is all about. Father send the clearing blast of the Holy Spirit to sweep away the false spirit of that which calls itself abandonment and turn us to Him who alone brings God- given abandonment.

For your glory alone this is asked through your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

Prayer 04 04 16

Yielding in utter humiliation to the Lord Jesus Christ

His servants ye are to whom ye obey.

Romans 6:16

Father may there be a willingness to examine the power which dominates each one of us. For if I am a slave to myself then I will yield to myself. If I obey God I do so because I have yielded myself to Him. How true, Father, to know that there is no power in the human soul which of itself can break the bondage of a disposition formed by yielding. This can be seen in the nature of lust for to yield to lust means that it is instantly ours.

There is no release in human power but only in the Redemption. Father may each one who knows that they have been redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ yield themselves in utter humiliation to the Lord Jesus Christ who alone can break the dominating power. How true are His words ‘to preach deliverance to the captives.’ It is yielding to Jesus which will break every form of slavery in any human life.

This is asked Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour so that the Father will be glorified through the Son. Amen.

An empty vessel God can fill

And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

Acts of the Apostles 8:6

Father what a work the Holy Spirit was able to do in Samaria through your servant Philip. He had been called by the Holy Spirit and filled with the Holy Spirit and fire. His faith was the faith of God. He obeyed when guided. He expected great things from God and these great things took place. As Philip became an empty vessel for the Holy Spirit to fill then Philip’s words were the words of the Holy Spirt and those who heard took notice for their hearts were opened to hear the words of God rather than the words of man.

Father the people saw the miracles which Philip did through the power of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and the authority in the name of Jesus. All that was done through Philip was because of the redemption which is in your Son Jesus.

In these days may there be a restoration of the revelation of what the redemption through Jesus Christ has done and will still do in and through those who like Philip are filled with the Holy Spirit and fire. This is the supernatural work of God in the lives of those absolutely resting in God rather than the rebellious ways of un-redeemed men who reject the way of God.

For thy glory this prayer is asked Father through your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

  • God’s claim on me

Perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 7:1

Father those who know you as God and Father rightly claim your promises as contained in your Word the Bible. However, this is only the human side. The Divine side is that through the promises I recognise God’s claim on me.

Father may I always accept that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. For it is by sanctification that the Son of God is formed in me. Then I have to transform my natural life by obedience to Him. Father when the Holy Spirit checks me then I know not to confer with flesh and blood and to cleanse myself at once. How vital it is, Father, to keep cleansed in the daily walk. To cleanse myself from all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit until both are in accord with the nature of God.

Help me Father to form the mind of Christ for He never spoke from His right to Himself but maintained an inner watchfulness whereby He continually submitted His Spirit to His Father.

May I also through the indwelling Spirit of your Son Jesus Christ continually submit my spirit to yourself. This prayer is asked through your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall at all times be glorified through the Son. Amen.

Prayers 09 05 16

Filled with the Holy Ghost and faith

For he was a good man and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

Acts of the Apostles 11:24

Father, Barnabas was sent by the church in Jerusalem to Antioch. When Barnabas saw the grace of God working amongst the people of God at Antioch he exhorted them so that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. Barnabas was able to do this because he was said to be a man full of the Holy Ghost and of faith. Father, may there be in these days too men like Barnabas who are filled with the Holy Ghost. Men who will also be used to add much people unto the Lord. This prayer is asked through your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

  • He must increase

He must increase, but I must decrease.

St John 3:30

Father as workers for the kingdom of God our great responsibility is to be a friend of the Bridegroom.

When we see a soul in sight of the claims of Jesus Christ then we know our influence has been in the right direction. Pray, pray we must for that soul so that no power on earth or in hell can hold that soul away from Jesus Christ. Father let nothing of us get in the way of that soul losing the vision of Jesus Christ. When we are one with your perfect will in prayer then He will increase and we decrease. Not sadness but joy for He alone is seen and the worker is not thought of again.

May we know when to step aside when you are at work in another soul whatever havoc it brings, what upsets and health issues but rejoice when the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ is being heard in that soul. Let us  let Jesus do His perfect work in another soul realising we are there to pray and He will work. Father all the glory is yours through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.

Prayers 16 May 2016

Saved by faith alone

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Ephesians 2:8

Lord Jesus Christ it is not just what you have done for it is to see who you are. The grace of God draws the sinner to you and shows that of ourselves there is nothing we can do by works to save ourselves from the condemnation and judgment of God on sin. This is what you have done for each one who comes to you and repents of their sin and by faith alone accepts a pardon from their sin as the gift of God alone.

The blood of Jesus Christ alone can cleanse sinners from their sin. Lord Jesus Christ you alone forgive sinners on the basis of who you are, God the Son. As equal with the Father you have the right to forgive sins. Then those who are forgiven receive your resurrection life. A new life.

The Divine life living within the human. May each one saved by grace through faith as a gift of God come into their inheritance of a life where you become their life. In so doing may each be filled with the mighty baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit constantly filling us and moving us until our whole being is on fire with the presence and power of God. Amen

  • Crucified with Christ

I have been crucified with Christ.

Galatians 2:20

Father in these days there is the need to rediscover the imperative need spiritually which is to sign the death-warrant of the dispensation of sin. Furthermore to be able to turn all emotional impressions and intellectual beliefs into a moral verdict against the disposition of sin that which says ‘my claim to my right to myself.’  The Charismatic Movement has been largely responsible for the seeking after experiences and gifts rather than after grace and godliness.

Turn us back to thee O God once more to humble ourselves for the sins of rejection of your Son Jesus Christ and replacing Him with experiences and gifts which have become the attraction instead of Him whom to know is life eternal. May those who are prepared to be real with you and seek reality accept that reality alone is to be found by being crucified with Christ. It is not imitating Him or looking to follow Him. It is that I have been identified with Him in His death.

This identification is the free committal of myself to God which will then give the Holy Spirit the chance to impart to me the holiness of Jesus Christ and not the self-seeking experiences which are centred in the desires of the flesh. For your glory alone, Father, this is asked through your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

Forgive us O God for distrust

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Romans 15:7

O God how your heart must grieve when there is not unity amongst the called out ones who have accepted your Son Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. There is distrust where there should be acceptance. Distrust over what is being accepted as doctrine.

Distrust over the baptism in the Holy Spirit. O God whilst the body of Christ cannot trust others within it who have the Lord Jesus Christ living within them there is that absence of the fire of the Holy Spirit to bring conviction to sinners. Forgive us O God from being so unresponsive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to let Him have all of our lives spirit, soul and body so that in absolute abandonment to your plan we shall be received by our brothers and sisters in Christ.

This receiving must be so for it is receiving the person of your Son. Let there be an acceptance that this is His life not our own. Jesus Christ who is living within us by His Spirit. Then shall all our lives be lived for the glory of God.. This is asked through Jesus Christ our Lord so that the Father shall be glorified through the Son. Amen.

  • A heart which burns

Did not our heart burn within us.

St. Luke 24:32

Father how I need to have a heart which burns with the fire of the Holy Spirit each day. There are times when Jesus appears and the fires are kindled and there are moments of wonderful visions. Father what is vital is to keep the secret of the burning heart that will go through anything.

It is learning the secret of abiding in Jesus which will prevent the dull, dreary and commonplace duties and people from killing the burning heart.

Father may the fire of the Holy Spirit burn within my heart all the time to shine as your Son Jesus Christ did during His earthly ministry as a witness to the living God. This prayer is asked through the name which is higher than any other name that of your Son Jesus Christ so that you shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

Prayer 28 04 16

The Pure in Heart

Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.

St. Matthew 5:8

Father may there be a realisation that purity is the outcome of sustained spiritual sympathy with God for we have to grow in purity. For our life with God may be right and inner purity remain unsullied, yet there can be times when the bloom on the outside may be sullied. Father may we realise that God does not shield us from this possibility for this is the way we shall realise the need to maintain the vision is by personal purity.

Father may the Holy Spirit show us when the spiritual bloom is getting impaired for it is only the pure in heart who see God. Father if we are going to retain personal contact with the Lord Jesus Christ how we need to accept that there are some things we must scorn to do or to think and some legitimate things we must scorn to touch. In relation to other people may we say that man or that woman, that relative and that friend is perfect in Christ Jesus.

This prayer is asked and the answer received through the name which is higher than all other names, Jesus Christ and for your glory. Amen.

Prayer 03 08 16

Intercession

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Romans 8:34

Father where are the intercessors in these days? There is no other argument than this to become intercessors. The argument is that Christ ‘ever liveth to make intercession.’

Is there that living in such vital relationship to our fellow men that we do the work of intercession as the Spirit filled and guided children of God? Are we allowing present circumstances to crush us?

Should this happen then may we take action and get into such a relationship with God that our relationship to others may be maintained on the line of intercession in which God will work His own marvels.

Father may you receive all the glory as this is asked through the name which you cannot deny, that of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer - 17 October 2016

A Living Sacrifice

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Genesis 22:9

Lord God this account of Abraham and his son Isaac shows that we are wrong when we think that the final thing God wants of us is the sacrifice of death. May we understand that what God wants is the sacrifice through death which shall enable us to do what Jesus did which is to sacrifice our lives. This is not saying ‘I am willing to go to death with Thee’ but ‘I am willing to be identified with Thy death.’ This is not death so that I may sacrifice my life to God.’ It is not simply giving up things for nowhere Lord do you speak of this for the sake of giving them up. For as with Abraham you are asking us to give things up for the sake of the only thing worth having which is life with yourself. Lord God may we be seeking thee for thyself so as to have your best which is that you become our life for then we become living sacrifices living wholly unto thee. Amen.

Prayer 02 July 2017

Obedience

But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.

2 Chronicles 15:17

Lord God Asa was right in the main yet not entirely right. May your people be aware that what does not matter much to them may mean that it matters a great deal to God. For nothing can be taken lightly by the child of God.

You are patient in trying to teach a thing yet there can still be that something over which there has not been obedience.

For where there is doubt within our lives then then we must quit immediately no matter what this may be. In the main most things may be alright yet there could have been a loss of concentration on some point. Lord evermore keep us watching and praying so as to remain entirely your own.

For your glory this is asked through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer 17 July 2017

Crisis of Abandonment

Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him and did cast himself into the sea.

St John 21:7

Father there are crisis in life. These may be external or internal. However, the real deep crisis of abandonment is reached internally and not externally. To give up external things may even be an indication of being in total bondage. Father may each one who calls themselves a Christian be brought to the place of deciding whether to deliberately commit their will to Jesus Christ. These are days where there is a lack of deep abandonment to Jesus Christ. Yet in your sovereign way you have allowed a great sifting of the wheat from the tares. Father may there be a remnant according to scripture who will abandon themselves to God so that He can do His work through them. This prayer is asked through the Lord Jesus Christ so that the Father shall be glorified in the Son. Amen.

Prayer 16 September 2017

Prepared to do anything for God.

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Genesis 22:2

Almighty God thy servant Abraham interpreted thy command to mean that he had to kill his son. For this was to be thy way of purifying Abraham’s faith. Likewise if thy people obey what you say according to their sincere belief you shall break them from those traditions which represent God.

There are many traditions which the devil will use to try and hinder us from taking the supreme climb to absolute surrender to you. O God help us to keep true to thee and bring us to a better knowledge of yourself.

For Abraham shows us that faith in God is in being prepared to do anything for God. As Abraham obeyed God so may we obey O God no matter what the cost may be even going against the traditions of accepted belief when this can be supported by thy Word. This is asked for your glory. Amen.

Prayer 19 11 18

The abiding consciousness of God.

“What man is he that feareth the Lord?”

Psalm 25:12

O God the Psalmist speaks of being haunted by God. Grant that thy people shall be haunted by God.

This is having the abiding consciousness of the life to be God rather than thinking about God. The whole of life, both inside and out, is to be absolutely haunted by the presence of God.

Then there shall be that living and moving and having our very being in God because the abiding consciousness of God pushes itself to the front all the time. To thy glory O God, to thy glory alone, is this asked and received. Amen.

Prayer 29 11 18

All for God.

“If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.”

St. John 13:17

Father I have cut the moorings and launched all on God. Into the great swelling tide of thy purpose with my eyes set upon thee as revealed through thy Son. My eyes are not on the storms of life for they are on the living God who is in control of every circumstance.

What joy this is for with this full and complete surrender to thy will alone come the great depths of God.

Be glorified in all that thou hast already done and shall continue to do in and through me by thy Son, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Prayer 08 04 19

Abandonment

“And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.”

St. Mark 1:17

Lord Jesus Christ there are hindrances to prevent from coming to you.

One of these is temperament and natural affinities. However, the first thing which is realised in coming to you is that you pay no attention to natural affinities. There is the notion that natural gifts can be consecrated.

Lord bring an understanding that the only thing which can be consecrated to God is my right to myself. It is when this takes place there shall come the one mark of the saint of God which is the moral originality springing from abandonment to thee Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord restore this in these days to the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Prayer 13 05 19

Laying down life and remaining loyal.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

St. John 15:13

Lord Jesus Christ you do not ask me to die for you but to lay down my life for you. Peter had said that he would lay down his life.

To do so can be out of the sense of the heroic. It is far easier to die than to lay down the life, day in and day out. Lord help me to realise that I am not made for brilliant moments. Instead it is walking in the light of them in ordinary ways.

Even you, Lord, had only one brilliant moment which was on the Mount of Transfiguration.

As a friend of yours, Lord, I have to lay down my life for you. Help, Lord, to be able to stand loyal.

Your honour, Lord, is at stake in my body which belongs to you.

Amen.

Prayer 20 01 20

Are you thirsting for God?

“And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water.”
Isaiah 35:7

O God how you give those who know you a vision before you take them to the valley to get them into the shape of the vision.

The valley is the place where so many then faint and give way. It is in the valley, though, that the vision will be made real when they have patience. How you are not in a hurry God in contrast to those who are so often in a hurry. In the light of the vision they rush to do things before the vision is made real.

O God how true it is that you first need to put through fires and floods in order to batter into shape before you can trust them.

Help them to see that the vision is of what God wants them to be for His glory alone.

Amen.

Prayer 17 02 20

Total reliance upon God. Thank you. Brian

“And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Lord: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.”

Joshua 24:19

O God I must have no reliance upon anything else than Thyself. There must be no reliance upon any natural virtue or any set of circumstances.

Self-sufficiency is totally out for I cannot of myself live a holy life. I can decide to let Jesus Christ make me holy. I cannot serve God but I can put myself in the place where God’s Almighty power will work through me.

I dare not say that I serve the Lord. I must trust the Lord.

For when I have something to trust in I shall be the last one to say I will serve the Lord.

I will believe instead and let Thyself Lord God be to me all that Thou hast said Thou will be in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Prayer 31 08 20

Promise of Deliverance

“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.”

Jeremiah 1:8

LORD God you promised Jeremiah that you would deliver him personally. This is all that you promise your children.

For wherever you send us you will guard our lives. Our personal property and possessions are of little concern to be held on to only loosely for if not they would become a snare which would cause distress should we lose them. In this world the Sermon on the Mount shows that when we serve Jesus there is no time to stand up for ourselves. How different this is to the teaching of most of what is known as Christianity in these days.

Self-centredness and a prosperity gospel is in direct conflict with the teaching of Jesus. LORD God tear apart and destroy the wicked, evil spirits working through self-centredness and the prosperity gospel and in its place may there be a complete surrender to yourself.

In doing so there is every confidence in your promise and the teaching of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.

Let your name may be magnified for ever.

Amen.

Prayer 19 10 20

God's way

“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

Psalm 37:5

O God how you seem to have a delightful way of upsetting the things we have calculated on without taking you into account.

It is so easy to get into circumstances which were not chosen by God. This can lead to God not entering in as a living factor.

To avoid worrying we need to bring God in as the greatest factor in all our calculations.

A living faith in the living God as found in Christianity will put God first even in the practical matters of life.

To do so we must come to God as we are.

This is done through trusting the Lord Jesus Christ in all matters each day to the glory of God the Father.

Amen.

Prayer 15 12 20

Reliance upon God.

Amen.
